Arun Mahto has been playing the Dholak since he was a kid. He learned the instrument from his father who had a troop of his own and went to villages and cities to perform. The team also played many times for the Radio. Arun has been part of this group since its inception in 2003. Although a farmer by profession, he says he loved to play the dholak and perform. The team has been invited to perform in many cities in Jharkhand and also Delhi. They are regular TV and Radio artists though do not realise that the flavours of their unique local music can easily create waves internationally.
Arun has this beautiful team which has a group of talented instrumentalists and an amazing choir group. The group has wonderful versatile members for whom music is passion and they shall follow it to their grave. They all belong from a small village near Silli district of Jharkhand. The group has been performing for a long time together now. They all have been learning and the following music from their childhood. They are extraordinary artists who put in efforts at every performance like it is their last. They have performed almost everywhere on the national group but together as a group they had never represented their tradition and culture on the international platform. They all wish to travel the globe and spread the message that their beautiful heritage songs have to give. They are very happy as a group and for them as far as they have music in their lives they don’t need anything else. The group is all devotees of Guru Prem Ji and have been dedicated all their performances to him in honour and love for him.
